How to Create Wedding Recipes
Food can be one of the most expensive parts of planning your wedding. In fact, you're lucky if you can get your reception catered for under $50 per guest. But if you're on a budget, you have a choice.
Do you invite fewer people, or not feed them? How about this: Why not find some wedding recipes so that you can make your own reception food?
The benefits of making your own wedding food are many. You have more control over the cost, first of all. You also have more control over ingredients. If you want to follow specific dietary guidelines for your reception, making your own food and choosing your own ingredients is a guaranteed way to do that.
But you'll need plenty of time to plan ahead, because your wedding day is going to be busy. Test all recipes ahead of time. Choose recipes that freeze well, or that will stay fresh in the fridge for a few days.
Involve your friends and family. Many of them will probably be happy to devote a few days to helping you with the big day by helping you make some wedding recipes– if you give them plenty of notice.
Choosing the recipes to serve your guests could be the toughest part of the plan. There are thousands of possibilities. Find cookbooks that have lots of great recipe ideas. Perhaps buy a few or borrow them from the library.
Don't neglect to search the internet, which could be your best resource. There are literally thousands of recipes on dozens of recipe sites. Spend a few hours doing your research, and you could put together the perfect menu!
There are lots of things you might consider serving at your reception. Consider skewered meats served with fine sauces, tea sandwiches (carrot, pimento, cucumber & cream cheese, etc.), potato skins with unusual toppings, wedges of pita bread with dips, crackers with smoked salmon, etc.
Be sure to look for the right wedding recipes that are delicious, but not the ordinary party fare for a Saturday night get-together. That way, the event and food will stand out in your guests' minds!and in yours.
