Apple: Front Runner Of The Technology Revolution

Apple started the personal computer revolution in the 1980s, and has stayed a major player in technology ever since. Apple produced the iPod and watched it become a worldwide sensation. But Apple has never been able to establish itself as a player in making mobile phones- until now. The new cell phone made by Apple is now the most wanted mobile gadget in the world.

When Steve Jobs announced at MacWorld in January of 2007 that Apple was developing a so-called "iPhone," a next-generation cell phone, he triggered widespread excitement and anticipation. Many were awed by the idea of a device that combined the features of an iPod with those of a cell phone. Before Apple released the iPhone, many press and media outlets generated enthusiasm and hype about the iPhone's possible features and price. On June 29, 2007, when the device was finally released to the world, customers lined up to buy an iPhone of their own. The iPhone is about the same size as an iPod nano, and it comes in black, white, and platinum models. Additional colors and visual options may be released in the future.

You can do a lot more than just listen to music and phone with the Apple iPhone. Text messaging, Internet browsing, email, and watching videos and movies are also available on this device, along with listening to music. You may appreciate all the functionality squeezed into the machine, or you may just be in awe of its small size.

Ever since the widely anticipated release of the iPhone on June 29, 2007, it has been exclusively available through the Apple retail stores and through AT&T in the United States. Apple plans to release the iPhone outside the U.S. late in 2007. It was inevitable that Apple would enter the personal cell phone market. With its built-in customer loyalty and the excitement of a new product, Apple's decision has so far proven to be a good bet.
